YouTube is launching their new streaming service, Remix. The release date is set for March 2018. According to Bloomberg, Warner Music Group is already set to be apart of the mix while Sony, Universal, and countless independent music labels have yet to make a decision.
Remix is set to be comparable to Spotify with on-demand streaming, but will still include YouTube elements with video clips available to stream.
Sounds like Tidal to me, but I digress…
If you have a Kindle or any other Amazon product, don’t get too excited. Due to Amazon not making their Amazon Prime Video app available to Google devices, access to YouTube will be disabled beginning January 1st. With the back and forth between Google and Amazon, this could jeopardize Remix as well.
Hopefully the two companies can come to an agreement.
