After months of anticipation the grand jury has decided not to go forward in charging police officer Darren Wilson on the murder of 18 year old Mike Brown. The grand jury came to the conclusion of a No True Bill which means that there was no probable cause to persue ANY charges against Wilson.
While listening to the prosecutor over the case, Bob McCulloch, he seemed very biased. He once again made sure to attack Mike Brown’s character by mentioning a cigarillo robbery being the reason that Wilson approached the young man and his friend. As he spoke he sounded more like a defense attorney. It was if he kept defending all of Darren Wilson’s actions that day with things that went on that had nothing to do with the shooting yet when questions were asked if he thought that some things could have been presented better and clearer to get justice for Mike Brown he had no answer.
President Obama commented on Monday night’s outcome with a statement: “Michael Brown’s parents have lost more than anyone. We should be honoring their wishes.” He too asked that protesters remain peaceful as Brown’s parents have requested.
As I said before, I’m not surprised by the decision that the grand jury made. I have lived in that area since I was four. I peeped game on racism in that area since I was a little girl. I now live in the south and I have seen little to no racial incidents here that in the St. Louis/Metropolitan area. I am disappointed there was not a different result.
