Keke Palmer is making history…AGAIN!
Actress and singer Keke Palmer received the role of a lifetime to be cast as the first African American Cinderella on Broadway.
Robyn Goodman, lead producer for the Rogers and Hammerstein classic told NBC”When she walked in and started singing and reading the lines it was just love. She had everything we were looking for.”
“I don’t even know to describe the feeling,” Palmer told NBC News reporter, Rehema Ellis . “I was just very…this is crazy!”
On top of acting on stage at Broadway. KeKe is also the youngest talk show host. At the age of 20 she launched her show Just Keke on the BET Network. She also appears on the latest season of Masters of Sex on Showtime.
By playing Cinderella, Palmer hopes to inspire young girls on achieving their dreams and goals.
“Young black girls that think that certain things aren’t possible. It’s good for them to just be able to see someone that looks like them. That let’s them know it’s possible but it also let’s them know just because you haven’t seen it doesn’t mean that you can’t be it.
She is doing her thing! Sherri Sheppard will also star in the Broadway production.
