For four seasons, Michael Key and Jordan Peele have been pushing the envelope on their hit show, “Key & Peele” on Comedy Central. Season five will be no different.
In the wake of police brutality, systematic racism and cultural appropriation being highlighted in the media and many social networks, the duo released the sketch, NegroTown that focuses on these controversial topics as their promo for the fifth season of the show.
As the officer is putting him in the car he bangs his head on the squad car. A homeless man who was watching the incident jumps up and convinces the cop to let the man go with him. They walk through the door and a wonderful world of happy black people appears.
While watching this I got this vibe of Spike Lee’s Crooklyn mixed with The Wiz andThe Women of Brewster Place. It must be the clothes.
