During an appearance on The View, Babyface announced he is hosting a live Instagram Special for Mother’s Day. He will be playing songs from the soundtrack, Waiting to Exhale. The classic 90’s album was produced entirely by him. Songs included are Sittin’ Up in My Room by Brandy, Let it Flow by Toni Braxton, Not Gon’ Cry by Mary J. Blige, as well as Shoop by Whitney Houston.
I thought this would be great, Mother’s Day, to play the Waiting to Exhale album, and to tell stories-tell how it all happened and talk about the artists and stuff and it would be fun to do…because that was half the fun of it all-In doing the Instagram Live was that being able to tell stories and tell things people were so interested in that. So I thought it would be fun to do as well.
Every single song on that album is a hit! I play it at least once every other week.
Babyface also spoke about his recovery from the Coronavirus, the infamous Instagram Battle against Teddy Riley, as well as new music in the works. See the full interview below:
After weeks of speculation of a Megan Thee Stallion collaboration with Beyoncé, the #HoustonHotties released the remix for Megan’s Savage on Wednesday afternoon. The original version went viral with TikTok dance videos. I’m sure with Queen Bey on the track this one will do just as well.
Jairus is an up-and-coming singer from Memphis, Tennessee. The Westwood native realized his singing abilities in church around the fourth grade. Later when asked to audition for his school’s Christmas play, he realized that he had a raw talent for performance as well.
What is the craziest thing that has happened to you while you were performing on stage? The craziest thing that has happened to me would be when I completely forgot the words to my own song in the 8th grade and had to freestyle the whole entire performance. Gladly everyone loved it but I was sweating big bullets and winging it the whole time. I didn’t quit though and that was when I knew I had the drive in me to do this for life.
Jairus started his songwriting journey in elementary school by copying down the lyrics to popular songs just to see how the words were patterned. By the time he was in the sixth grade, he started writing his own songs.
If you’re going to use someone else’s beat you better make sure you deliver!
